Awakening to Eternity: A Journey of Faith and Redemption

In the end, I realise that the true purpose of my life was not to chase the fleeting pleasures of this world, but to seek the pleasure of Allah (SWT) and to live in a way that earns His eternal reward.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

As I ponder the thought of the world ending tomorrow, a deep sense of urgency and clarity washes over me. All the distractions, the material pursuits, the endless chasing of worldly gains – they suddenly seem so trivial and meaningless. In the face of mortality, I am forced to confront the true purpose of my existence.

For so long, I had been misguided by my own whims and fancies, taking for granted the infinite mercy and compassion of Allah (SWT). I had become heedless, focusing solely on the Dunya – my career, my wealth, my possessions. I had forgotten that all of these were but a loan from the Almighty, to be used in service of Him and His creation.

The realisation crashes down on me like a tidal wave. Have I genuinely lived as a Muslim, not merely in name, but in my every action and understanding? Have I truly ready myself for the ultimate journey, the transition to the Hereafter? The crushing weight of these questions drives me to my knees, overwhelmed by a tidal surge of remorse and heart-wrenching tears.

I remember the days of my youth, when I thought that merely acknowledging the existence of Allah (SWT) was enough to become a true believer. How naive I was, blinded by my own arrogance and vanity.  Now, with the end in sight, I understand that the path to Allah (SWT) is paved with discipline, knowledge, and a constant struggle against the whims of the self.

I thank Allah (SWT) for allowing me the opportunity to reset my life and reboot my connection with Him. I thank Allah (SWT) for giving me the chance to fill my heart with the declaration of faith: “La ilaha illa-Allah” – there is none worthy of worship but Allah. This will be my anchor and guiding light as I embark on a journey of rediscovery and spiritual renewal.

No longer will I take for granted the blessings bestowed upon me. I will cultivate a deep sense of gratitude, recognizing that every breath, every moment, is a gift from the Most Merciful.  I will strive to live each day with intentionality, aligning my actions with the teachings of Islam, and seeking forgiveness for my past shortcomings.

The thought of meeting Allah (SWT) (Insha’Allah) fills me with a mixture of fear and hope. I know that I have much to atone for, but I also trust in His infinite mercy and forgiveness.  I will approach this final reckoning with humility, acknowledging my flaws and weaknesses, yet confident in the knowledge that Allah (SWT) is the Most Compassionate, the Most Forgiving.

As the world around me crumbles, I will find solace in the remembrance of Allah (SWT), in the deep contemplation of the Quran, and in the company of righteous companions.  Together, we will strengthen our faith, support one another, and prepare for the ultimate reunion with our Creator.

In the end, I realise that the true purpose of my life was not to chase the fleeting pleasures of this world, but to seek the pleasure of Allah (SWT) and to live in a way that earns His eternal reward. With this newfound clarity, I will embrace the end of the world not with fear, but with a sense of peace and readiness.

In the end, I realise that the true purpose of my life was not to chase the fleeting pleasures of this world, but to seek the pleasure of Allah (SWT) and to live in a way that earns His eternal reward.

For in the face of mortality, I have found the true path to life – a life of purpose, devotion, and eternal bliss. This is the legacy I wish to leave behind, not the material possessions or worldly achievements, but the unwavering faith that will guide me through the final moments and into the embrace of the Almighty.

Thank you, Allah (SWT), for granting me the precious gift of life for another day to remember you. With each sunrise, I am reminded of Your endless mercy and the countless blessings that surround me. Every breath I take is a testament to Your love and guidance.

In moments of reflection, I feel the weight of my aspirations and dreams, often overshadowed by doubt and fear. Yet, I understand that You have created me with purpose, instilling in me the strength to rise above challenges and strive for greatness. Thank You for the trials that shape my character and the lessons that guide my path.

As I stand at the crossroads of my life, I am inspired to take action—to pursue my goals with unwavering faith and determination. I recognise that every small step I take can lead to profound change, not just in my life but in the lives of those around me.

Let Your light illuminate my journey, guiding me towards a future filled with hope and possibility. May my heart be filled with gratitude, and may I always seek to serve others as a reflection of Your love.

Say: “O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Quran 39:53

With renewed resolve, I commit to making the most of this day. I will embrace challenges as opportunities to seek closeness to You. Thank You for reminding me that I am never alone, and that with Your guidance, We can overcome anything (Insha’Allah).
