The Golden Chain of Transmission : A Prophetic Legacy
This beautiful understanding of why we exist isn’t something new. It comes from our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself, who spent 12 to 13 years teaching just this concept to his companions.
Before teaching the companions how to pray or fast, he made sure they understood why they were created. Even when facing great difficulties and persecution, he focused on building this foundation in their hearts.
His companions then taught this to others, who taught it to the next generation, forming a golden chain of teachers (sanad) that continues to this day. When we learn about our purpose in life, we’re receiving the same precious knowledge that our beloved Prophet ﷺ took such care to teach, passed down from teacher to student, generation after generation, until it reached us.
